DPRK FM Statement Supported in Sweden
Pyongyang, February 24 (KCNA) -- The Communist Party of Sweden made public a statement on Feb. 15 in support of the statement issued by the Foreign Ministry of the DPRK.

The statement said:

Unstable situation is prevailing on the Korean Peninsula as a peace treaty has not yet been concluded though nearly six decades have passed since the ceasefire in Korea.

The DPRK has made ceaseless efforts to seek a peaceful settlement of the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula.

Noting that confidence building between the DPRK and the United States would create conditions for achieving peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula, the statement held that to this end it is necessary to conclude a peace treaty, to begin with.

Supporting the DPRK's proposal for an early start of the talks for replacing the Armistice Agreement with a peace treaty, the statement called upon all the peace-loving forces in Sweden to make a contribution to lasting peace on the peninsula.
