Kim Jong Il's Birthday Celebrated in Different Countries
Pyongyang, February 24 (KCNA) -- A joint seminar and a photo exhibition were held in UK and seminars in Bangladesh and France on Feb. 12 and 13 on the occasion of the birthday of General Secretary Kim Jong Il.

Displayed in the venues of the exhibition were photos on the Songun leadership feats performed by President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and other photos on the Korean people's drive for building a thriving nation.

Keith Bennet, deputy director-general of the European Society for the Study of the Juche Idea, Andy Brooks, general secretary of the Central Committee of the New Communist Party of Britain, and Dermot Hudson, chairman of the British Association for the Study of Songun Policy, said that under the leadership of Kim Jong Il the Korean people have made world-startling successes such as the successful launch of satellite Kwangmyongsong-2 and the carrying out of the second underground nuclear test despite the vicious anti-DPRK moves of the imperialist allied forces, etc.

Chairman M. Gamrul Huda and an advisor to the Bangladesh Institute of the Juche Idea noted that the birthday of Kim Jong Il, the great sun of the 21st century, is a common holiday of not only the Korean people but the world progressives, adding that he has protected the dignity and sovereignty of the DPRK and steered the anti-imperialist struggle to victory despite the threat of the imperialists.

Jean Marie Lambret, chief of the French Group for the Study of the Juche Idea and Songun Idea, said that the cause of building a thriving nation in the DPRK is sure to triumph thanks to the leadership of Kim Jong Il.

A letter to Kim Jong Il was adopted at the event held in UK.

G. Debarajan, secretary of the Central Committee of the All-India Forward Bloc, and Hari Singh Khan, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), each issued a statement on the occasion of the day.
