The bulletin referred to the fact that Kim Jong Il adopted the Songun policy as a main political mode under socialism to cope with the grim situation that prevailed at the end of the last century, bringing about a turning phase in building a thriving nation and provided the inter-Korean summit, the first of its kind in 55 years since the national split with his great patriotic bold decision, making sure that the June 15 joint declaration, a landmark of Korea's reunification, was adopted.
