Vinalon Cotton Production Revitalized
Pyongyang, February 22 (KCNA) -- The February 8 Vinalon Complex has resumed mass-producing quality vinalon cotton and various chemical goods after being streamlined.

Its workers completed a huge project of updating the production processes in a matter of two years.

Vinalon was invented by Korean scientist Ri Sung Gi in Juche 28 (1939).

Before the liberation of Korea he had been harassed by the Japanese imperialists as he refused to make research concerning munitions production and even after the liberation he could not realize his wish for vinalon production owing to the obstructions of the U.S. imperialists and the south Korean puppets.

He, who came to the north of Korea during the Fatherland Liberation War, got through research into vinalon production on a commercial basis with limestone and anthracite abundant in Korea under the care of President Kim Il Sung.

With preparations finished for vinalon production in an industrial way, the President chose the site of a vinalon factory and wisely guided the construction project.

The "vinalon speed" was created in the construction of the factory.

The factory, which started operation on May 6, 1961 and turned into a complex later, has made its equipment large-sized and modern to increase the productivity and tangibly contribute to the country's economic development and people's living improvement.

Some time ago General Secretary Kim Jong Il visited the complex to be very pleased with vinalon cotton being produced in quantities to fully supply quality vinalon cloth to the people as desired by the President. He said the resumed vinalon mass-production marked a signal event for the whole country and signified another great victory gained by the Korean people in the building of a thriving nation.
