February Holiday Marked in Nepal, Denmark and Poland
Pyongyang, February 17 (KCNA) -- Meetings took place in Nepal, Denmark and Poland on Feb. 8 and 9 to celebrate the birthday of General Secretary Kim Jong Il.

Speeches were made there.

The Nepalese minister of Youth and Sports, C. P. Mainali, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Nepal Communist Party (Marxist-Leninist), and Ram Krishna Karmacharya, president of the National Press Club of Nepal, said that the DPRK has increased military capacity and firmly defended socialism and peace and security on the Korean Peninsula relying on it under the Songun revolutionary leadership of Kim Jong Il. The miracles and innovations made by the Korean people in socialist construction are a fruition of his wise leadership, they added.

Anders Kristensen, chairman of the Denmark-DPRK Friendship Association, expressed belief that the grand goal set by the Workers' Party of Korea to open the gate to a thriving nation in 2012, the centenary of birth of President Kim Il Sung, will be successfully attained under the wise Songun leadership of Kim Jong Il.

The chairman of the Poland-Korea Association said that Kim Jong Il has given field guidance to various domains of the national economy across the country from the outset of the New Year. He praised the forced march made by Kim Jong Il out of patriotism and wished the Korean people greater success in the struggle to build a thriving nation and reunify the country.

Congratulatory messages to Kim Jong Il were adopted at the meetings held in Nepal and Denmark.
