Lots of Gifts from 170 Countries so far
Pyongyang, February 15 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il was presented with gifts carrying best wishes by heads of many states and governments and leaders of political parties, personages of various strata, organizations and people of broad strata on significant occasions.

He received tens of thousands of gifts from more than 170 countries of the world.

The number of the gifts he received in the 1980s plus those presented to him in the 1960s and the 1970s of the last century reached more than 27,000.

He was presented with hundreds of gifts by at least 100 countries in October, Juche 79 (1990), the significant 45th anniversary of the foundation of the Workers' Party of Korea.

The number of gifts presented to him rapidly increased from the middle of the 1990s.

He received more than 14,000 gifts from progressive people in the last decade when he resolutely frustrated the moves of the imperialist allied forces to isolate and stifle socialist Korea by displaying his iron faith and brilliant strategy, thus demonstrating the dignity and honor of the DPRK.

He received more than 2,400 gifts in one year in this period. He was presented with more than 300 gifts when visiting Russia in 2001. He received more than 660 gifts on February 16, 2002 alone.

The gifts presented to him are most profound in their ideological contents, unprecedented in their varieties and styles and rarest in their value.
