Present there were figures of the Russian Association for Friendship and Cultural Cooperation with the DPRK, the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and the Russian Association for the Study of the Juche Idea and other people. Present there on invitation were officials of the DPRK embassy in Moscow.

First Vice-Chairman Yuri Vanin and Secretary Petrov of the association and Veredin, secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, made speeches at the meeting.

The speakers highly praised Kim Jong Il as a great world political elder, a great master and an outstanding thinker, philosopher and practician whom no statesman can ever match at present.

Noting that the national defence capability of the DPRK has reached its highest level, it has turned into an impregnable fortress and the Korean people are fully prepared to beat back any provocation of enemies thanks to the Songun politics enforced by Kim Jong Il, they added that the Songun politics serves as an ever-victorious banner for achieving the prosperity of the country and the nation.

Hailing the proposal of the DPRK for concluding a peace treaty as an entirely just one, they extended full support to it and expressed belief that the Korean people would achieve new success in their efforts to improve their standard of living this year.

Messages of greetings to Kim Jong Il from the association and the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union were adopted at the meeting.
