S. Korean Police's Fascist Suppression under Fire
Pyongyang, February 12 (KCNA) -- Opposition parties of south Korea strongly protested against the wholesale search and confiscation operation of the puppet police against the Democratic Labor Party (DLP).

Lawmakers from the DLP, the Democratic Party and other opposition parties held a joint meeting at the "National Assembly" on Feb. 9 to protest against the above-said operation.

At the meeting they branded the security authorities' recent suppression as an undemocratic act to spy out details of activities of the DLP and an attempt to break the solidarity and alliance of the opposition camp in a bid to dodge the people's judgment in the forthcoming "elections to the local self-governing bodies".

A spokesman for the Democratic Party at a press conference on Feb. 7 protested against the suppression, saying that it was extremely stunned by the reckless action of the police to suppress the activities of the political party.

The former representative of the New Progressive Party said before students of Ajou University that day that the security authorities' unhesitating suppression of the opposition party in broad daylight was little different from the suppression during the past "Yusin" dictatorship as it was an action to arrest the activities of the political party.

The Preparatory Committee of the Youth Solidarity of south Korea in a statement on Feb. 8 strongly denounced the present regime for its politically-motivated suppression of the DLP. It declared that it would intensify the actions for solidarity with all political parties, civic and public organizations and people opposed to the authorities' repression.
