3rd National Pencil Drawing Festival Opens
Pyongyang, February 10 (KCNA) -- The 3rd National Pencil Drawing Festival was opened to celebrate February 16, the birthday of General Secretary Kim Jong Il.

Presented to the festival, divided into groups of experts and amateurs, are at least 800 drawings selected from the pencil drawing shows which were held in Pyongyang and local areas.

Among them are works depicting the sacred revolutionary career of President Kim Il Sung and anti-Japanese heroine Kim Jong Suk and the immortal exploits of Kim Jong Il.

There are also works on the intense loyalty of the servicepersons and the people who wish good health to Kim Jong Il, the people's happy life getting better and the stirring reality of Songun Korea, the invincible might of the revolutionary strong army of Mt. Paektu and the desire for reunification mounting in across Korea.

A ceremony of opening the festival took place at the Pyongyang International Cultural Centre on Wednesday.

Present there were officials concerned, artists and fans, working people and school youth and children in Pyongyang.
