Competitions will be made in eight events, including basketball, volleyball, table tennis, ice hockey and skiing, during the contest to be held in Pyongyang and Samjiyon.

Its opening ceremony took place at the Basketball Gymnasium in Chongchun Street Wednesday.

Present there were Kim Jung Rin, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials concerned and sportspersons.
