A resolution was adopted at the meeting. It recalled that after the publication of the joint declaration such happy events had taken place one after another as the thawing of ice--the division and confrontation which lasted more than half a century--by the hot wind of reunification and the reconnection of severed vein of nation.

But, today the touch-and-go situation, in which a war may break out any moment, is prevailing on the Korean Peninsula due to the south Korean authorities' policy of confrontation with the DPRK, it pointed out, stressing that the present critical situation should never be overlooked nor ignored.

The resolution called upon all Koreans to remain more faithful to the idea of "By our nation itself", decisively reject the south Korean authorities' treacherous doctrine of attaching priority to foreign forces and resolutely protect the dignity and interests of the nation.

It underscored the need for the fellow countrymen of different strata at home and abroad to positively achieve national reconciliation irrespective of ideology, ism, political view and religious belief and activate visits and contacts and multifarious cooperation.

It stressed that they would glorify the 10th anniversary of the June 15 joint declaration as a nationwide reunification festival for bringing about a new turning point in the national reunification movement and thus make contributions to demonstrating the significance of the joint declaration in the nation's history and its vitality.
