Referring to the achievements made by the Korean people in their efforts to build a thriving nation last year, the speakers said that the DPRK set it as the general orientation of action for this year to conduct a sweeping campaign to bring about a drastic turn in improving the people's standard of living and thus demonstrated once again the advantages of Korean-style socialism centered on the popular masses.

An appeal was made at the seminar in Ukraine. It called upon the Juche idea followers the world over to launch a vigorous campaign for celebrating as a great revolutionary holiday the 65th birthday of the Workers' Party of Korea this year when noteworthy events will be recorded in the history of
Kim Il Sung's nation and mankind.

Meanwhile, the Federal Leadership of the Left Bloc of the Austrian Trade Union Federation sent a letter of solidarity to the Central Committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea on Jan. 25 in support of the joint editorial and the statement of the DPRK Foreign Ministry.
