Kim Jong Il Greets Vietnam Communist Party Leader
Pyongyang, February 1 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il sent a congratulatory message to Nong Duc Manh, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Sunday on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the DPRK and Vietnam.

The message said:

I extend warm congratulations and greetings to you and, through you, to the Communist Party and the friendly people of Vietnam on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between our two countries.

The bilateral relations are precious as they were provided personally by President Kim Il Sung, the great leader of our people, and respected President Ho Chi Minh of the Vietnamese people, and the two peoples have steadily developed in depth the bonds of friendship and cooperation on the road for independence against imperialism and for socialism over the past 60 years.

Convinced that the friendly and cooperative relations between our two parties, countries and peoples with a long history and excellent tradition will be further developed in the future, I wholeheartedly wish your people bigger success in their efforts to build rich, powerful and prosperous Vietnam true to the behests of President Ho Chi Minh under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam with you as its general secretary.
