The affirmative proposals and efforts made by the AU to achieve peace and stability, politico-economic integration and development of the continent and solve any African problem by efforts of the Africans have aroused big international support and sympathy while inspiringly encouraging the peoples of developing countries in the present common cause of meeting all sorts of challenges and establishing a fair and equal international relationship.

I take this opportunity to express the Korean people's firm solidarity with the African people in the just cause of building an independent, peaceful and prosperous continent and reaffirm the consistent stand of the DPRK government to further expand and develop the traditional relations of friendship and cooperation with the AU and its member nations.

Being convinced that the current session would mark a significant occasion in taking practical measures to put on a new higher stage the overall economy of the region, including the development of IT in Africa, and further strengthening the AU, I heartily hope that the session would result in good fruition in keeping with the expectation and desire of the member nations.
