Motto of Schoolchildren
Pyongyang, January 25 (KCNA) -- Seen in any secondary and primary schools of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea is the slogan "Let Us Learn for Korea!"

General Secretary Kim Jong Il set forth the slogan in January Juche 42 (1953) when he was studying at Mangyongdae Revolutionary School.

He told fellow pupils that the slogan had a meaning that all the schoolchildren should study hard to get a good knowledge of the history, geography, culture and situation of the country so that they could become sons and daughters faithful to President Kim Il Sung and glorify the country.

The slogan has since been taken by the Korean schoolchildren as their ideal and will, firing their zeal of learning.

As a result a large number of students have grown to be well-qualified persons in the country. Among the graduates from Mangyongdae Revolutionary School are scores of heroes, professors and doctors who have rendered great services to the cause of the Party and leader, the country and people.

Kim Jong Suk Secondary School No.1, Pyongyang Secondary School No. 1, Paeksa Primary School in Sinuiju City and other schools across the country have also produced up-and-coming reserve scientists, writers and artistes.

The slogan serves as a motto of all the Korean schoolchildren and as precious guidelines in their study and life.
