Kim Jong Il Inspects Flour-Processing Combine and Foodstuff Factory
| Pyongyang, January 23 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il gave field guidance to the Pyongyang Flour-Processing Combine and the Ryongsong Foodstuff Factory.
The first leg of his guidance was the Pyongyang Flour-Processing Combine.
He went round the room devoted to the history of the combine, conducted by leading officials of the combine.
Looking back with deep emotion on the glorious course covered by the combine, he said that the combine has turned into a large-scale food processing base thanks to the wise leadership and meticulous care of President Kim Il Sung. His immortal revolutionary exploits will shine forever in the history of the country, Kim Jong Il added.
After being briefed on the combine before a big map showing its panoramic view, he made the rounds of its production processes including the Biscuit Shop to acquaint himself in detail with technical equipment and production there.
Noting that the combine is an important foodstuff base directly related to improving diet of citizens, he set forth important tasks which would serve as guidelines for managing and operating the combine.
The most important task facing the combine is to dynamically push ahead with the overall technological updating to realize the modernization and scientization of its production processes in the shortest possible period, he noted.
Many factories and enterprises across the country including those in Jagang and North Phyongan provinces have successfully introduced CNC technology and pushed back the frontiers of science, thereby bringing about a leap forward in the production, he said, underscoring the need to modernize the combine as required by the IT age.
He stressed that in order to turn the combine into a modern foodstuff factory based on the latest science and technology it is necessary for the officials and technicians of the combine to boldly design a work and push ahead with it with an innovative eye and, at the same time, universities including Kim Chaek University of Technology, scientific research institutes and construction enterprises should help the combine in its work in a responsible manner from the stand befitting masters.
Noting that if the combine is technologically updated, its production capacity would remarkably go up, he set forth militant tasks to process more than 100,000 tons of flour and produce more than 50,000 tons of foodstuff such as bread, biscuit, noodle and yeast every year. And he showed such profound loving care as personally solving problems facing the combine.
The next leg of his guidance was the Ryongsong Foodstuff Factory.
After being briefed on the factory before a big map showing its panoramic view, he went round the exterior and interior of the factory kept clean and tidy for hours to learn in detail about its technological updating and production there.
Watching modern foodstuff producing equipment standing in rows at each shop and varieties of tempting foodstuffs including yogurt, soy, soybean paste and table oil being churned out from there in an endless stream, he expressed great satisfaction over the fact that the workers of the factory have achieved leaping progress in the production of foodstuffs by modernizing and scientizing the production processes on the highest level including the process for putting them on a CNC and sterile basis. He highly appreciated the feats performed by them.
The officials, workers and technicians of the factory have turned it into a standard one in the field of foodstuff industry in the IT age by dynamically waging a mass technical innovation movement true to the WPK's idea of attaching importance to science, he noted, adding that this signal change clearly testifies to validity and vitality of its policy of pushing ahead with the introduction of science and technology as a vital task for building an economic power.
Saying that the above-said factory has an important role to play in developing the nation's foodstuff industrial technology and improving the people's standard of living, he set forth important tasks to be fulfilled by it.
An important duty facing the factory is to increase the production of foodstuffs for the improvement of people's diet by giving fullest play to the existing production capacity and ensure their best quality, he noted.
He was accompanied by Choe Yong Rim, chief secretary of the Pyongyang City Committee of the WPK, and Kim Kyong Hui, department director of the Party Central Committee, and its other leading officials.
