DPRK's Proposal for Peace Supported in Peru
Pyongyang, January 23 (KCNA) -- The Peruvian Preparatory Committee for Commemorating the Centenary of Birth of President Kim Il Sung issued a statement on January 14 in support of the statement of the DPRK Foreign Ministry.

Expressing full support for the DPRK's proposal for peace, the statement said:

The conclusion of a peace treaty would help put an end to the hostile relations between the DPRK and the United States and push ahead with the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula at a rapid tempo.

Denouncing the warlike policy of the U.S., the statement said:

The U.S. does not truly want peace on the Korean Peninsula but considers south Korea as an outpost for aggression in a bid to keep a permanent state of war in Asia.

It does not want to see the Korean Peninsula denuclearized as it would lead to the withdrawal of its nuclear weapons from south Korea but is only seeking to disarm the DPRK under the pretext of the nuclear issue.

We bitterly denounce the U.S. and the south Korean authorities for their war moves.

The parties concerned should positively support the DPRK's proposal guaranteeing peace on the peninsula and the rest of Asia and the world.
