Korean Athletes Convinced of Good Scores
Pyongyang, January 21 (KCNA) -- The Korean athletes have begun the new year's training, filled with confidence in their good results in international and local tournaments.

Last year sportspersons of the country registered good results in international arenas, delighting the local people, who were working hard to build a thriving nation.

The national team gained a ticket for the final games of the 2010 FIFA World Cup and players of wrestling, gymnastics, judo, weightlifting and other events proved successful at World and Asian Championships, East Asian Games and other international tournaments.

The players and their coaches are now determined to further develop the country's sports technique and distinguish themselves in international tournaments this year, too.

Kim Jong Hun, chief coach of the national male football team, told KCNA that his team would score a good result in the World Cup to live up to the expectation of the people by giving full play to the mental power of the players and coaches.

Olympic gold medalist Pak Hyon Suk, female weightlifter of the Amnokgang Sports Team, who was chosen as one of the ten top players of the country in 2008 and again in 2009, told KCNA that she will make redoubled efforts in training to exalt the honor of the country with gold medals.
