Pyongyang, January 21 (KCNA) -- The Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union made public a statement and the All India Indo-Korean Friendship Association, the All India Agricultural Workers' Union, the All India Peasants' Union and the All India Federation of Lawyers and the Finnish National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea and the Finland-Korea Society released joint statements in support of the statement of the DPRK Foreign Ministry on January 15.

The Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union in its statement said that the proposal of the DPRK for an early start of the talks of the parties to the Korean Armistice Agreement for replacing it by a peace treaty for the normal situation on the Korean Peninsula would be a good start for the resumption of the six-party talks.

It is time for the above-said parties to lend their ears to the reasonable proposal of the DPRK government and sit at a negotiating table to put their commitments into practice, the statement said, adding that this is the best way for settling the issue of the Korean Peninsula which has long remained unsettled, beset with unpredictable consequences.

The above-said organizations of India in a joint statement expressed belief that the DPRK proposal to have talks for concluding a peace treaty would contribute to ensuring peace on the peninsula and realizing its denuclearization and achieving the independent and peaceful reunification of Korea, demanding the U.S. sincerely accept the proposal and immediately come out to the proposed talks.

The above-mentioned organizations of Finland in their joint statement reiterated their support to the DPRK proposal for concluding a peace treaty, noting that it is an important matter to be settled first of all for the purpose of achieving the reunification of Korea and peace and security in the area of Northeast Asia to conclude a peace treaty and put an end to the U.S. presence in south Korea.
