Coal Production on Increase
Pyongyang, January 19 (KCNA) -- After receiving the joint New Year editorial published by leading newspapers of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, coal mines throughout the country have topped their daily quotas.

Increased production has been reported every day from major coal mines in western, northern and middle parts of the country.

The Thaehyang, Sinri, Chilli and other coal mines under the Anju Area Coal Mining Complex, have registered a record production, steadily raising the productivity through technical updating.

The February 8 Jikdong Youth Coal Mine belonging to the Sunchon Area Youth Coal Mining Complex turned out coal on the first day of the year much more than that of last year to be sent to power stations.

Coal mining complexes in Tokchon, Tukjang, Pukchang, Kujang and Onsong areas have overfulfilled their daily production plan.

Coal mines in Kaechon, Kangdong, Myongchon, Kyongwon and Chonnae areas and minor coal producers throughout the country are also doing their bit.

Meanwhile, brisk preparations are going on to inaugurate new pits and districts in different mines.
