The appeal noted that unforgettable is a day in June eight years ago when middle schoolgirls Sin Hyo Sun and Sim Mi Son were cold-bloodedly killed by an armored car of the U.S. forces. The U.S. not only declared the criminals "not guilty" but also has behaved arrogantly, feigning ignorance of the crime still today, it added.

The appeal stressed that the above-said organizations have formed the committee with a view to erecting the monument reflecting the feelings of all the people remembering the two schoolgirls who were killed with their grudge unsettled.

While erecting the monument, the committee will struggle to the last to have the truth behind the murder probed and the criminals of the U.S. forces punished, the appeal noted, calling upon all the organizations and people desirous of independence and peace to launch joint actions.
