Indonesian Figure to Boost Relations with WPK
Pyongyang, January 18 (KCNA) -- Megawati Soekarnoputri, chairwoman of the Central Directive Council of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle, met with the DPRK ambassador to Indonesia on January 13.

She hoped that the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and the government and people of the DPRK would achieve greater successes in the drive for building an economic power and reunifying the country in response to the joint New Year editorial under the Songun leadership of General Secretary Kim Jong Il.

She expressed her affirmation for the joint New Year editorial of the leading papers of the DPRK which declared the will to strive for opening the way for improvement of inter-Korean relations, establishing durable peace mechanism on the Korean Peninsula and realizing its denuclearization this year which marks the 10th anniversary of the publication of the June 15 joint declaration. She sincerely hoped that Korea would be reunified as early as possible.

She stressed that her party would always support the efforts of the party, government and people of the DPRK for the country's reunification and peace and stability of the Korean Peninsula and actively try to continue to boost the friendly and cooperative relations with the WPK.
