Solution to Issue of "Comfort Women" Urged in S. Korea
Pyongyang, January 16 (KCNA) -- The 900th Wednesday rally for the solution to the issue of "comfort women" for the Imperial Japanese Army was held on Wednesday in front of the Japanese embassy in Seoul.

It was attended by members of civic and public organizations including the Council for the Solution of the Issue of the Volunteers Corps in south Korea and the victims of the sexual slavery.

Speakers at the rally charged that it is 18 years since the Wednesday rally started in front of the Japanese embassy in Seoul in demand of the solution to the issue and the latest one is the 900th rally but the Japanese government has not yet made any apology and reparation for its crimes related to the sexual slavery, evading the responsibility for them.

They made it clear that they would not stop the struggle till the Japanese government has fully admitted its responsibility for the crimes and redeemed them.

A statement read out at the rally demanded the Japanese government make apology and reparation to the victims as early as possible, bearing deep in mind that the responsibility for the war crimes will get heavier with the increase in the number of Wednesday rally.

It called upon the people from all walks of life to wage a more dynamic struggle to force Japan to definitely redress the crimes committed by it to the Korean nation in the past and find a solution to the issue of "comfort women" for the Imperial Japanese Army this year.

Solidarity rallies were held on the same day in different countries including Japan, the U.S. and Germany to expose and denounce the sexual slavery enforced by Japan in the past.
