Joint New Year Editorial Hailed
Pyongyang, January 16 (KCNA) -- An international body and organizations of Guinea and Ecuador issued statements in support of the joint New Year editorial published by newspapers of the party, the army and the youth of the DPRK.

The International Liaison Committee for Reunification and Peace in Korea in its statement on Jan. 9 expressed full support for the joint editorial which opens a new chapter for all the Korean people to go ahead, and stressed that the progressive political parties and organizations of all countries should make positive contribution to Korea's reunification for global peace and prosperity.

The statement held that the south Korean authorities should remove all sorts of institutional mechanisms hamstringing dialogue and cooperation between the north and the south and Japan should halt the suppression of Korean residents in Japan and do things helpful to dialogue of the Korean nation.

The Guinea-Korea Friendship Association in its statement on Jan. 7 said that unshakable is the stand of the DPRK to improve the inter-Korean relations and pave the way for national reunification on the basis of the historic June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration.

Korea's reunification will be realized at once when the political parties and organizations and people from all walks of life in the north and the south of Korea are closely united with each other, irrespective of isms, the statement said.

The Guaranda, Ecuador, Association for Friendship, Culture and Solidarity with the Korean People in its statement on Jan. 5 said that Korea's reunification should be realized under the banner of the inter-Korean joint declarations, and expressed belief that the Korean people would surely achieve the reunification of the country in the near future.
