Japan Accused of Sexual Slavery for Army
Pyongyang, January 12 (KCNA) -- The recent survey conducted by researchers of "the Japanese Center on Accountability for War" of 2,000 books containing war records and reminiscences in the Diet library resulted in discovering more than 260 books dealing with facts about "comfort women" for the Imperial Japanese Army, drawing the attention of the international community.

Foreign press reports said the findings were of great historic value as they gave a detailed account of the fact that the Imperial Japanese Army was deeply involved in the system for using the "comfort women" such as the physical examination conducted by MPs of the army of "comfort women" and the comfort stations operated by them and sexual abuses, in particular. Minju Joson Tuesday observes in a signed commentary in this regard:

The above-said findings go to clearly prove the undeniable historic facts that Japan set up the above-said system for the Imperial Japanese Army during the Second World War, the first of its kind in world history, and enforced the policy of sexual slavery.

It is more than 20 years since the issue of "comfort women" for the Imperial Japanese Army began to be brought up for discussion in the international arena but still remains unsettled. This is attributable to the behavior of Japan which has not only refused to admit its crimes it committed in the past but run the whole gamut of tricks to evade the responsibility for them.

The truth of history is sure to be clarified whether the Japanese reactionaries like or not and their evil doings will rebound on themselves.

Now that it has become clear the most evil doings in history were perpetrated by the Japanese government and military in an organized manner Japan can never evade its state responsibility for them and it deserves a stern punishment under international law.

The word play being resorted to by Japan over its past crimes only betrays its moral vulgarity in the eyes of the international community.

Japan would be well advised to promptly opt for redressing its past crimes as required by justice and human conscience and bear in mind that this offers it the last chance of resurrection.
