Now is the time for all the Koreans to fully demonstrate the might of the Korean nation aspiring after national reunification by uniting close under the banner of "By our nation itself."

There are ample conditions and possibilities for the Korean nation to achieve great national unity.

The homogeneity of the nation and its strong sense of independence and its excellent quality formed throughout its history spanning 5,000 years serve as a basis of the great national unity.

The June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration are the declarations of the great national unity through which the Koreans declared before the whole world that they would reunify the country independently through their concerted efforts. They should thoroughly implement the inter-Korean declarations if they are to exalt the sovereignty and dignity of the nation and achieve its prosperity.

All the classes, strata and bodies should hold brisk dialogues for national reunification and achieve firm solidarity and alliance under the uplifted banner of "By our nation itself," going beyond their bounds.

If the people of all social standings at home and abroad get reconciled and cooperate with one another, this will amount to a process of wiping out misunderstanding and distrust and building confidence and achieving national unity and cementing it.

It is only a handful of anti-reunification conservative forces that dislike national reconciliation and unity.

In order to achieve national unity it is essential to condemn the group of traitors standing in its way so that they may not be able to stay any longer.
