Exploits of Peerlessly Great Persons Praised
Pyongyang, December 31 (KCNA) -- Meetings, film shows and photo exhibitions were held in South Africa and Bangladesh and a seminar in Mexico between December 12 and 14 to mark the 18th anniversary of General Secretary Kim Jong Il's assumption of the supreme commandership of the Korean People's Army and the 92nd birth anniversary of Kim Jong Suk, anti-Japanese heroine.

On display in the venues of the functions were photos on the immortal exploits of Kim Jong Il and Kim Jong Suk, woman commander of Mt. Paektu, and photos introducing the Korean people in the efforts to build a great prosperous and powerful nation.

Appreciated at the film shows were "Fireworks for a Thriving Nation" and other Korean films.

Speeches were made at the functions.

The chairman of the Mahlambandlophy, Pretoria City, Branch of the African National Congress of South Africa said that the Korean people have achieved marvelous successes beyond imagination in the drive to build a thriving nation. The credit for the DPRK's rapid advance toward brilliant future goes to the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il who has made endless forced march of field guidance, pursuing the Songun politics, he added.

The advisor of the Bangladesh Barisal Society for the Study of Songun Policy stressed that under the leadership of Kim Jong Il the Korean people have firmly defended socialism without vacillation at the persistent moves of the imperialists.

The chairman of the Mexican Institute for the Study of the Juche Idea noted that Kim Jong Suk gave birth to the bright star of Mt. Paektu and thus provided a sure guarantee for carrying forward and accomplishing the socialist cause generation after generation. Her life and feats will shine forever with Songun Korea, he said.

A message of greetings to Kim Jong Il was adopted at the event in South Africa.
