Ambition of Japan to Grab Tok Islets Flailed
Pyongyang, December 28 (KCNA) -- According to the information provided by the Japanese Geographical Institute recently to a foreign correspondent, all of the 200,000-300,000 maps published in Japan every year had Tok Islets (Takeshima) marked in the same color as its territory.

A spokesman for the institute said satellite photos are used for marking the islets as Japanese are barred from landing on them and making a necessary measurement at present and the issue of using a modern geodetic method is now under study.

Rodong Sinmun Monday observes this in a signed commentary in this regard:

This indicates that Japan's moves to grab other's territory has reached a more shameless and undisguised phase.

Japan's move to seize Tok Islets is a blatant infringement upon the dignity and sovereignty of the Korean nation.

There is neither reason nor justification for Japan to raise a claim to Tok Islets as they are an inviolable part of the territory of Korea.

The Japanese reactionaries' open marking of Tok Islets on their maps as part of their "territory" patently proves once again that they are so brazen-faced as to stoop to anything to meet their purpose of territorial expansion.

No matter how absurdly Japan may insist that other's land belongs to it, Tokyo can never bring them under its control. It is evil disposition and inveterate bad habit of Japan to tell lies and make fabrications and perpetrate invasion and plunder.

It is the unchangeable brigandish ambition of Japs to covet other's territory.

They give Japanese name to the islets of other country before depriving them of the designation of the continental shelf in the waters off them and seeking to put the whole area under their domination in the end.

Herein lies the vicious and dangerous nature of Japan's moves to grab other's territory.

But such brazen-faced artifice of Japan is no longer workable in this bright world.

The Japanese reactionaries would be well advised to immediately drop such foolish bid, bearing deep in mind that the world people remain vigilant against the ugly serpent of militarism reemerging through their wild ambition for territorial expansion.
