S. Korean Authorities Accused of Obstructing Reunification Movement
Pyongyang, December 17 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the South Side Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration released a statement on December 13 denouncing the puppet Ministry of Unification for its anti-reunification act of blocking the non-governmental exchange between the north and the south.

The statement accused the ministry of "selectively disallowing" eight representatives including Ri Kang Sil, permanent steering member of the above-said committee, to participate in a meeting of the All-Korean Committee for Implementation of June 15 Joint Declaration slated to be opened in Shenyang.

The recent action taken by the ministry to block the participation of members of the progressive organization in a meeting under the pretext of "considering the present situation of the south-north relations, ensuring security and maintaining order," etc. was aimed at disturbing the non-governmental cooperation and exchange between the south and the north and putting a check-bar on the reunification movement of the progressive organizations, the statement noted, and warned:

If the "government" continues casting a chill over cooperation and exchange of non-governmental organizations, failing to properly solve the issue of the south-north relations, the above-said committee will strongly react to it by all means and methods.

The Solidarity for Progress of south Korea also issued a statement on the same day in which it held that the ministry's persistent suppression of the non-governmental reunification movement proves that it has no will to improve the inter-Korean relations. The committee will judge the anti-reunification forces through nationwide resistance, declared the statement.
