Story of Kim Jong Suk
Pyongyang, December 16 (KCNA) -- Hearing the news that children of revolutionary martyrs arrived in Pyongyang, Kim Jong Suk, an anti-Japanese heroine, accompanied President Kim Il Sung to meet them in early August of Juche 36 (1947).

That day she unusually got excited, saying that she should meet the bereaved children.

When a car carrying the President and the heroine reached the place where the children were at play, the girls and boys rushed for the car breaking into cheers "Long Live General Kim Il Sung!"

At a few steps before the President, however, they stopped, hesitating to further proceed.

Their poor appearance -- shoulder-bared jackets, hemp trousers worn out at knees and worn-down straw shoes -- kept them from approaching him.

The heroine, feeling sorry about their tattered clothes, embraced them and said that the general did not mind them wearing rags and that it was not their fault to be poorly clothed and go hungry.

She then pushed them towards the general.

Only then the children flung themselves into his arms, bursting into tears.
