Repeal of Fascist Law Urged by S. Korean Organization
Pyongyang, December 8 (KCNA) -- The Headquarters of Struggle against Dictatorship of the Youth and Students Solidarity for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration in south Korea released a statement on Dec. 4, 61 years since the fabrication of the "National Security Law".

The statement referred to a document laying bare the suppression perpetrated on the strength of the fascist law, which was issued by the People's Solidarity for the Repeal of the "National Security Law".

Recalling that the office of the Jeju Youth Society for Reunification and the house of its former leading member were forcibly searched, the permanent representative and the secretary general of the Jeju Solidarity for Implementing the South-North Joint Declaration were booked without detention and indicted and penal servitude was imposed upon a religionist for posting on Internet articles and animation files praising the north, etc, the statement noted that these are part of the crackdown perpetrated by the authorities this year on charges of violation of the above-said evil law.

Pointing out that Yun Ki Jin, chairman of the South Headquarters of the National Alliance of Youth and Students for the Country's Reunification, and a member of the solidarity and others were sentenced to heavy penalties on charges of violating the evil law and are now serving prison terms, the statement held that all this is a tragedy spawned by the present regime.

The statement deplored that a large crowd of people are falling victim to the NSL, a leftover of the old era, still today when the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration should be sincerely implemented.

Noting that the NSL is, indeed, an evil law blocking reunification and abusing human rights which should be repealed without fail, the statement declared that youth and students would wage a dynamic anti-"government" struggle to get the fascist law abolished for the freedom of thinking and conscience and justice.
