Adherence to Three Principles of Reunification Called for
Pyongyang, December 4 (KCNA) -- The three principles of national reunification --independence, peaceful reunification and great national unity-- set forth and consistently maintained by the Workers' Party of Korea are unchangeable principles of national reunification.

Rodong Sinmun Friday says in a signed article carried in this regard:

These principles serve as the most just reunification programme and a charter for reunification common to the nation as they call for independently solving the issue of national reunification on the principle of national self-determination free from outside interference, reunifying the country by peaceful means without resorting to the use of armed forces and promoting the great unity of the whole nation irrespective of ideology, ism and system.

The issue of national reunification should be solved strictly on the three principles no matter how the situation and environment may change in the future.

The June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration, a programme for implementing it, thoroughly embody the three principles of national reunification and clearly indicate the way of solving the issues of the inter-Korean relations and the reunification on those principles.

If the south Korean authorities truly wish the improved inter-Korean relations and peace and reunification, they should respect the said declarations and clarify their will to implement them.

Absolutely intolerable are treacherous and anti-reunification acts such as violating the spirit of the inter-Korean declarations and standing in the way of their implementation.

All Koreans at home and abroad should never tolerate any anti- reunification act of negating the inter-Korean declarations and obstructing their implementation but decisively foil them by their concerted efforts.

The DPRK will as ever firmly abide by the above-said three principles in the struggle for improving the inter-Korean relations and achieving national reunification.
