KCNA Slams Japan's Talk about "Elimination of Nukes"
Pyongyang, November 25 (KCNA) -- It was disclosed recently that the former government of the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan had said one thing and did another as regards the nuclear issue, sparking furor in the international arena.

According to what was disclosed by James Schlesinger, former U.S. secretary of Defense, at a press conference, last year and this year the chief executive of the above-said government expressed concern to the council that in case nuclear disarmament is pushed forward, the trust in the "nuclear umbrella" to be provided by the United States to Japan may sink.

At that time, he provided even a list of nuclear forces to be maintained by the U.S. including updated nuclear warheads, nuclear submarines and B-52s.

This fact goes to prove that the "elimination of nukes" touted by Japan so far is nothing but hypocrisy intended to mislead public opinion at home and abroad.

Japan has so far talked a lot about "the elimination of nukes" in the international arena, trumpeting that it is the only "atomic-bombed country" in the world and the like.

This being a hard reality, Japan blatantly challenged the nuclear disarmament under the signboard of "elimination of nukes."

Japan paid lip-service to "the three non-nuclear principles" but behaved quite contrary to them behind the scene. It secretly agreed with the U.S. to overlook the portcall of warships of the U.S. forces carrying nuclear weapons on Japanese ports and their transit through its territorial waters, increasing the nuclear threat to Northeast Asia.

Japan has turned the archipelago of Japan into a forward nuclear base of the U.S. under its "nuclear umbrella". Not content with this, it has persistently pushed forward its independent nuclear weaponization.

Japan is possessed of the technology for manufacturing nuclear weapons and nuclear fuel and even their delivery means.

As proven by the above-said facts, Japan's loud-mouthed "elimination of nukes" is nothing but a smoke-screen to hide its despicable record of nuclear-related crimes and accelerate its nuclear weaponization.

Japan has posed a nuclear threat to Northeast Asia and steadily escalated it since long ago. Its talk about the nuclear issue is just like a thief crying "Stop the thief!"

Japan would be well advised to honestly admit its hideous crimes related to nukes before taking issue with somebody's nuclear issue.

It is quite self-evident that it is impossible to denuclearize Northeast Asia and the rest of the world unless Japan opts for true nuclear dismantlement as it is the arch criminal posing a nuclear threat to the region.
