Japan Urged to Settle Its Past Crimes
Pyongyang, November 18 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun Wednesday carries a signed article 104 years since the brigandish fabrication of the "Ulsa (1905) Five-Point Treaty" by the Japanese imperialists.

The article says:

In order to establish colonial domination over Korea the Japanese imperialists fabricated the above-said treaty, a document with no legal validity, by threatening and blackmailing the Emperor and ministers of the Royal Government of Korea in 1905. This was nothing but an illegal, invalid and fraudulent document as it lacked the approval and signature of Emperor Kojong, the supreme ruler of Korea at that time, and the state seal.

The colonial rule enforced by the Japanese imperialists over Korea after the fabrication of the treaty was the most hideous crime against humanity as it was the harshest in its brutal and heinous nature and the thrice-cursed and most horrible state-sponsored crime.

Japan should be forced to pay for the crimes committed against the Korean people in the past without fail as they can neither be covered up nor written off.

Japan is under a legal and moral obligation to make an honest apology to all Koreans and pay reparation for its aggression and crimes against humanity.

A century has passed since the fabrication of the treaty but Japan has not yet reflected on the above-said monstrous crimes. On the contrary, it is busy justifying its blood-stained history of aggression under the signboard of its "legitimacy" and "legality," not content with distorting it. Moreover, it has become undisguised in its moves to stage a comeback to Korea in a bid to realize its old dream of the "Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere".

The ultra-right reactionary forces of Japan would be well advised to behave themselves, drawing a serious lesson from their blood-stained past history, and make an honest apology and proper reparation for the crimes committed against Korea in the past.
