The statement noted that Kim Jong Il has pursued the original Songun political mode on a full scale by developing in depth the idea and line of attaching importance to the army and military affairs, set forth by President Kim Il Sung, on the basis of the scientific analysis into the international environment and the trend of changed situation with which the DPRK is faced.

It further said:

Under the Songun politics, the DPRK has contained the U.S.-led imperialist allied forces' offensive to stifle it with its powerful military deterrent, thus defending socialism and demonstrating the sovereignty and dignity of the nation to the whole world.

Today the DPRK is displaying its sovereignty and dignity to the whole world, facing down the U.S. which threatens and discomforts the whole world. This reality makes the world more keenly feel that Songun is an invincible banner for the cause of independence.

Convinced that the Songun politics serves as a basic guarantee for making history of sure victory in the struggle against imperialism, we extend full support and solidarity to the DPRK's Songun politics.
