Technology for Artificial Propagation of Sturgeon Completed
Pyongyang, November 10 (KCNA) -- Scientists of the Branch Academy of Fishery under the State Academy of Sciences have completed the technology for artificial propagation of sturgeon.

They, on the basis of their research into the biological features of the rare sturgeon, solved in a scientific way all the problems arising in the fish-breeding process such as the condition of the water quality and selection of seed fish, incubation, breeding of fry and mother sturgeon.

They succeeded in artificial insemination by spawning stimulant. It made it possible not only to mass-propagate sturgeon but also to raise the survival rate of the fry and to find the practical method for solving the issue of artificial feed.

It is easy to apply the newly completed artificial propagation method everywhere as it does not need any special facility and its process is simple.

The development of the technology opens a bright vista to breed the sturgeon in an intensive way.
