Sariwon Fruit Farm
Pyongyang, November 6 (KCNA) -- There is the Sariwon Fruit Farm in the suburbs of Sariwon City, North Hwanghae Province of the DPRK.

The farm is covered with fruit trees such as apple, pear, peach, apricot and plum and grape vine.

President Kim Il Sung chose the land for the farm and sent thousands of roots of grape vine there long ago. And he also sent vehicles including tractors and equipment necessary for the operation of the farm.

The President visited the farm several times, indicating orientations and ways for boosting the fruit production.

General Secretary Kim Jong Il who has successfully translated the lofty intention of the President into reality visited the farm and gave a detailed instruction to supply people with more fruits and saw to it that necessary materials were sent to it for the management of the orchard.

The farm which produced just hundreds of tons of fruits a year early in the 1960s has increased its production to thousands of tons.

In recent years the farm replaced its fruit trees with high-yielding fruit trees including low apple trees and built even a winery near it.

The farm supplies fruits not only to the people in its province including Sariwon but also to those in other areas.
