Pyongyang, November 5 (KCNA) -- A gravity-fed drinking water project has been completed in Unsan County, North Phyongan Province shortly ago so as to supply quality spring water to the residents in the county.

These years have witnessed the completion of gravity-fed drinking water service projects in different parts of the DPRK.

Hyesan City, Ryanggang Province is providing the inhabitants with the water of the Osi Stream, the water quality of which is not inferior to the famous Sindok spring water.

Similar projects were also undertaken in Rason City, Sinuiju City of North Phyongan Province, Haeju City and Pyoksong County of South Hwanghae Province and Songgan County of Jagang Province, thus supplying clean water to the residents in the cities and county-towns.

The gravity-fed water system is economically profitable as it saves large amounts of electricity and manpower and does not use water pumping equipment.
