KCNA Slashes U.S. Human Rights Racket
Pyongyang, November 4 (KCNA) -- The U.S. and other hostile forces are making much ado about the so-called "human rights issue" in the DPRK at the UN General Assembly.

This is nothing but a despicable plot to attain their sinister purposes by putting political pressure upon the DPRK.

It is the political common sense universally accepted by the international community that the U.S. and its followers' "human rights" racket is so ridiculous that no one would lend an ear to it as they are becoming evermore undisguised in politicizing human rights issues and applying selectivity and double standards in handling them.

Those countries that are becoming most vociferous about "human rights issues" are the countries with the most serious human rights records without an exception.

To take the U.S. as an example, the rich get ever richer and the poor ever poorer and the number of the unemployed and the poor is on the steady increase; the right of equality, the right to work and the right to existence, elementary rights of human being, are being ruthlessly violated.

The average income ratio between the monopoly capitalists and the working people in the 1970s was 40:1 and it increased as high as 367:1 and the number of the poor reached 39.8 million last year or an increase of 2.5 million over 2007.

The "anti-terror war" started by the U.S. is internationally branded as a war for violating human rights and usurping state power. Angry voices critical of this war of genocide are heard from the United States, too, as it took dozens of times more lives of innocent civilians than those killed in the "September 11 incident."

Japan is taking the lead in echoing the U.S. trumpeting about "human rights". Japan, too, wantonly abused the rights of a countless number of Asians in the past but has not yet settled the crimes, earning an ill fame as a spiritually and morally despicable country bereft of even the face to speak about human rights.

The ceaseless mean "human rights rackets" kicked up by the U.S. and its followers against those independent countries after selectively choosing them as their targets while feigning ignorance of their hideous human rights abuses are aimed at keeping the outdated order of strong-arm actions and arbitrary practices in the international arena. They seek to attain unlimited freedom to interfere in others' internal affairs under the spurious signboard of "championing human rights."

Such a hegemonic attempt should never be tolerated.

Free medical care and free education, etc. enforced in the DPRK, the best socialist state in the world as it is centered on the popular masses, are unimaginable in the above-said countries. It is the height of sarcasm that those countries are talking about what they call "human rights issue" in the DPRK.

The people of the DPRK enjoy a genuine life and happiness as human beings something unimaginable in the capitalist society where a human being is treated as a slave of money.

Under our socialism the popular masses, the driving force of the history, are considered as the most powerful and dignified beings and everybody enjoys a worthwhile and joyful life, working hard for the prosperity of the country.

The people of the DPRK are dashing ahead toward a thriving socialist nation undeterred by the world-wide economic crisis thanks to the Juche idea centered on man and the invincible socialist system, its embodiment, as they guarantee the dignity and rights of the people on the highest level.

The U.S. and other hostile forces should not have even the slightest calculation that the people of the DPRK would allow themselves to open the door to their "human rights offensive" and abandon the principle.

Noisy trumpeting about "human rights issue" by the countries with the worst human rights records would only bring disgrace to them.
