Work to Prevent A/H1N1 Flu Brisk in DPRK
Pyongyang, October 30 (KCNA) -- A strict anti-epidemic work is now under way in the DPRK where no A/H1N1 flu has yet occurred.

The relevant institutions have rounded off the quarantine system to prevent the spread of new influenza virus from other countries and made full preparations for prevention and treatment.

The State Emergency Epidemic Prevention Committee has set up a well-regulated information system and the epidemiological information exchange system from the health institutions in the capital city to those in local areas whereby a regular work is conducted to take measures against any slightest symptom reported.

The Central Hygienic and Anti-Epidemic Center of the Ministry of Public Health and other anti-epidemic units at all levels have organized workshops on several occasions to help health workers improve their professional qualifications and raise their roles. In the meantime, a preventive network has been expanded nationwide as evidenced by the increase in the number of the offices for watching new influenza and the supply of necessary medicines and equipment.

Medical examination and hygienic information service for inhabitants have become brisk and those suspected of being new influenza cases are sent to health institutions to undergo tests. Scientific researches into the prevention and treatment of new influenza have been intensified.

A more strict quarantine inspection is now conducted at the airport, trade ports and border posts to cope with the situation where the number of new influenza cases is on the steady increase in the countries and region geographically close to the DPRK.

Veterinary and anti-epizootic organs are also taking measures to ensure that the regulations for epizootic prevention are strictly observed in breeding animals including swine.
