Pyongyang, October 25 (KCNA) -- Victims of the sexual slavery joined the members of the Council for the Solution of the Issue of the Volunteers' Corps, the Puchon Citizens Federation and other civic and social organizations of south Korea in their 888th Wednesday rally held in Seoul on Oct. 21 for the solution to the issue of the "comfort women" for the Imperial Japanese Army.

Speeches were made there.

Yun Mi Hyang, permanent representative of the council, referred to the fact that international solidarity organizations including the council and Japanese civic organizations have conducted activities for the solution to the said issue but Japan has evaded its responsibility far from admitting its past crimes related to sexual slavery.

She appealed to various organizations to conduct more dynamic actions to force the Japanese government to make an official apology and legal reparation for the crimes related to "comfort women" as soon as possible.

Hwang In O, co-representative of the Puchon Citizens Federation, said that 17 years have passed since many people held the Wednesday rallies with the victims of sexual slavery. Hwang stressed the need for the citizens in Puchon to take the lead in the movement to force Japan to liquidate its crimes.

Kil Won Ok, "comfort woman" victim, said that all the victims would struggle till the last moments of their lives to have the issue settled despite their advanced ages of 80 and 90.

A statement was read out at the rally.
