Korean Exhibition Opened in Hong Kong
Pyongyang, October 11 (KCNA) -- A Korean fine arts exhibition was opened with due ceremony in Hong Kong on Oct. 6 to mark the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the DPRK and China.

Present at the ceremony were figures of the Hong Kong special administrative unit government, missions of the Chinese Foreign Ministry and different countries in Hong Kong and the "International Kim Il Sung Foundation" and the delegation of the DPRK-China Friendship Association and the DPRK consul-general in Hong Kong.

Speeches were made there.

The deputy representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry to Hong Kong said that the exhibition is of special significance as it is held on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the China-DPRK diplomatic ties. Through the exhibition the people of Hong Kong will get better understanding of the history and culture of Korea, he noted.

He stressed that China and the DPRK have understood and supported and assisted with each other the independence of their countries and the course of their socialist construction over the past 60 years while developing the bilateral friendly and cooperative relations provided and cultivated by the leaders of elder generation of the two countries.

We came to get convinced through Premier Wen Jiabao's visit to the DPRK that the China-DPRK friendship has struck its roots deep in the minds of the two peoples, he said, stressing that the exhibition would promote the development of the friendly relations between the two countries.
