The Finland-Korea Society in its statement on Oct. 1 said that the October 4 declaration is a very important declaration adopted through the reunification movement of the Korean people as it is a programme for the implementation of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration.

It further said:

We express full support for the declaration and extend invariable solidarity to the Korean people, sincerely wishing them great successes in their efforts to accomplish the sacred cause of achieving the national unity and prosperity under the leadership of Kim Jong Il true to the last instructions of President Kim Il Sung for national reunification.

We strongly demand that the U.S. withdraw its aggressor forces from south Korea without delay and let the Korean people achieve the reunification of the country through their concerted efforts in the idea of "By our nation itself."

The Norway-Korea Friendship Society in its statement on Oct. 3 said that the October 4 declaration was warmly welcomed by all the Korean people and the progressive humankind as soon as it was published and a new phase of detente was opened on the Korean Peninsula.

Meanwhile, an Indonesian public figure issued a statement on Oct. 2 in which he extended full support and encouragement to the Korean people's just cause of achieving the independent and peaceful reunification of the country under the uplifted banner of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration and the October 4 declaration.
