Education in Revolutionary Spirit of Self-reliance
Pyongyang, October 7 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Suk, an anti-Japanese heroine, visited the Chongjin Iron Works (present Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex) one day in December Juche 34 (1945).

After acquainting herself in detail with the actual conditions of the works, she sat knee to knee with the workers to find the way for repairing the furnace.

Then the workers worried themselves, unable to find a way of removing tens of tons of coagulated molten iron and waste material in the furnace.

A worker told her that it could be done by the method of explosion but it was difficult to obtain explosive.

Listening to him, she said that they could get explosive if they worked in the same spirit and stamina as the anti-Japanese revolutionary fighters made Yanji bombs with bare hands and mowed down the Japanese imperialists. This gave confidence and courage to them.

The workers made an oath to rehabilitate the works by their own efforts. Then she said to the following effect: There is nothing impossible if you buckle down to work with a firm determination. This is the truth we have got in the arduous struggle.

Her teachings implanted the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance deep in the hearts of the workers and inspired them forcefully to perform remarkable successes.
