Japan's Wild Ambition for Overseas Expansion under Fire
Pyongyang, October 7 (KCNA) -- The Japanese government is considering signing a defence logistics agreement with Australia that would enable the two countries to share food, fuel and other supplies and services, according to a recent Japanese newspaper report.

This agreement calls on the Japan "Self-Defence Forces" (SDF) to share with Australian forces transport of supplies as well as repair and other services for joint drills, U.N. peacekeeping operations, etc.

Minju Joson Wednesday observes in a signed commentary in this regard:

One may simply interpret the proposed agreement as a measure of Japan to boost cooperation and assistance, allegedly prompted by its keen interest in international affairs including U.N. peacekeeping operations. But lurking behind this move is a sinister and cunning plot of the Japanese reactionaries to realize their wild ambition for overseas expansion under the signboard of an "international contribution" to "peacekeeping operations".

Citing facts to prove that the "peacekeeping" and "international contribution" much touted by Japan is nothing but a cynical ploy to lay a springboard from which to launch overseas aggression, the commentary goes on:

It is the scenario of Japan to emerge a military giant and embark upon the road of overseas aggression in a bid to realize its old dream of "Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere" in the new century at any cost.

If the above-said agreement is adopted and the SDF's overseas military activities and close cooperation in them are put into practice, this will spark and escalate a new arms race in Asia and, furthermore, will bring fatal consequences to the world peace and security. Japan has already rounded off the legal, institutional, spiritual and material preparations for reinvasion of Asia and laid a social base for launching it. The intensified moves of Japan to emerge a military power and launch reinvasion are rendering the regional situation tenser, escalating the danger of war and putting the peaceful environment of the surrounding countries at peril.

The Japanese reactionaries had better stop their rash acts, clearly mindful that their reinvasion is bound to lead to self-destruction.
