Vigorous Reunification Movement of Korean Nation Urged
Pyongyang, October 4 (KCNA) -- Cha Sang Bo, vice-chairman of the General Association of Koreans in China, released a statement titled "Let us more vigorously conduct the struggle to preserve and implement the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration to the last" on September. 25.

The statement noted that the historic October 4 declaration, provided thanks to General Secretary Kim Jong Il's steadfast will for reunification and his wise guidance, is a reunification programme which indicated the wide avenue for achieving the development of the inter-Korean relations, peace on the Korean Peninsula, co-prosperity of the nation and the country's reunification on the basis of the main spirit of the June 15 joint declaration.

It is entirely the shining fruition of Kim Jong Il's steadfast idea of national independence and his noble patriotic will and wise leadership that hot wind of reunification swept across the country, which had been frozen with distrust and confrontation for more than half a century, and such advance has been made in the improvement of the north-south relations and the movement for peaceful reunification as it is today, the statement said, and went on:

Nothing is more patriotic for the Koreans than to struggle for implementing the said declarations, the reunification programme common to the nation, true to the intention of Kim Jong Il, the sun of the nation and the lodestar of the national reunification.

The Korean residents in China will decisively smash the confrontation moves of the separatist forces totally denying the north-south declarations and running amuck to hinder the reconciliation and unity and independent reunification of the nation.

We will further strengthen the solidarity and alliance of overseas compatriots in the struggle for national reunification and demonstrate the fresh stamina of national unity to the whole world, thus fully discharging our historic mission and duty for the era and the nation.
