Reunion of Separated Families of North and South Closes
Pyongyang, October 1 (KCNA) -- The reunion of separated families and relatives from the north and the south of Korea that began at Mt. Kumgang Resort on Sept. 26 on the occasion of the Harvest Moon Day went on.

Those from the north met with their kin from the south on Sept. 29. They were proud to tell their kin from the south that they have led a worthwhile life under the care of General Secretary Kim Jong Il and rendered services for the building of a rich and powerful country despite their advanced ages.

They told their kin to take the lead in carrying out the sacred cause of reunification, saying that a nation-wide struggle of all the compatriots is the only way of bringing earlier national reunification.

The south Korean Red Cross arranged a reception for the separated families and relatives of the north and the south on the same day.

On Wednesday, they spent a pleasant time, taking pictures and meals together.

Before bidding farewell to their kin from the south on Thursday, those from the north promised them to actively turn out in the grand march for reunification under the banner of the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration to bring the day when they will be able to live in happiness together.
