DPRK Fine Art Exhibition Opens in China
Pyongyang, September 30 (KCNA) -- A DPRK fine art exhibition was opened at the Military Museum of the Chinese People's Revolution in Beijing on Monday to mark the 60th birthday of the People's Republic of China and the "year of Sino-DPRK friendship".

Displayed in the venue of the exhibition are more than 60 fine art works, produced by famous artists of the DPRK, including Korean paintings, oil paintings and woodcut prints.

Present at the opening ceremony of the exhibition were Li Xiaohua, vice-president of the China Association for International Friendly Contact, Xu Jialu, high-ranking advisor to the China Association for International Friendly Contact and former vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the Chinese National People's Congress, the deputy secretary general of the Chinese Fine Art Association, the curator of the Military Museum of the Chinese People's Revolution, and other personages from different walks of life and masses and Choe Jin Su, DPRK ambassador to China, and his embassy officials, the delegation of the DPRK-China Friendship Association led by Jon Chun Sik, vice-chairman of its Central Committee, and DPRK students in China.

Speakers at the opening ceremony expressed expectation that the exhibition vividly showcasing the successes made by the Korean people in their efforts to build a thriving socialist nation under the Songun leadership of General Secretary Kim Jong Il and the beautiful manners and customs and spectacular scenery of Korea would contribute to deepening the friendly feelings between the peoples of the two countries and boosting the DPRK-China friendly and cooperative relations.

At the end of the ceremony, the participants looked round the fine art works on display.
