21st Symposium on Yun I Sang Music Held
Pyongyang, September 29 (KCNA) -- The 21st symposium on Yun I Sang music was held at the People's Palace of Culture on Tuesday.

Present at the symposium were Kim Pyong Hun, chairman of the Central Committee of the General Federation of the Unions of Art and Literature of Korea, Song Sok Hwan, vice-minister of Culture, officials concerned, creators and artistes of national art organizations and teachers and researchers in the field of art education.

Yun's daughter was present there.

The symposium heard speeches titled "On applying the traditional national music rhythm of Korea in Yun I Sang music", "On the themes of concertos of Yun I Sang", "On Yun I Sang's creation of music in the early period of his activities" and "On Yun I Sang's Symphony No. 1."

Speakers scientifically and theoretically proved the ideas and contents and national character and rendition technical features of the musical works composed by composer Yun, produced by the Korean nation, who made a contribution to developing human music. They spoke highly of the career of Yun who dedicated himself to the reconciliation and unity of the nation and the country's reunification and his creative activities.

The symposium provided an opportunity of making a wider-ranging and more profound study of the music of Yun who left big traces in the world history of modern music for the national character, philosophy and appeal reflected in his works.
