Kim Jong Suk Remembered in Ukraine and Peru
Pyongyang, September 29 (KCNA) -- Remembrance meetings were held in Ukraine and Peru on Sept. 22 on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of demise of Kim Jong Suk, an anti-Japanese heroine and woman commander of Mt. Paektu.

Introduced at the meetings were the part of President Kim Il Sung's reminiscences "With the Century" dealing with the revolutionary career of Kim Jong Suk and the short biography of her revolutionary activities. Then speeches were made.

Nikolai Polishk, chairman of the Ukrainian "Treasured Sword of Songun" Association for the Study of the Juche Idea, said that Kim Jong Suk is a bodyguard who defended Kim Il Sung at the risk of her life during the anti-Japanese armed struggle and in the period of building a new Korea after its liberation.

She is a genuine revolutionary who resolutely advocated the revolutionary idea and line of the President under the complicated situation and an indomitable fighter who left brilliant records in the history of the world women's liberation movement, the speaker said, adding: She is the great mother of the revolution as she gave steady continuity to the Korean revolution.

The widow of Angel Castro Lavarello, former president of the Peruvian-Korean Institute of Culture and Friendship, said that Kim Jong Suk embarked on the road of revolution in her early years, putting the revolution before herself and established her fame as a heroine ready to unhesitatingly dedicate her life to the revolution.

The greatest exploit of Kim Jong Suk is that she gave birth to General Secretary Kim Jong Il, lodestar of Mt. Paektu, and brought him up as the successor to Kim Il Sung, she said, adding: Her life was that for the revolution and serves as a vivid example telling that there is no end to the mental and moral life of a revolutionary though his or her physical life is limited.
